Ed Coan

Ed Coan is widely recognized as one of the greatest powerlifters of all time. Born on July 24, 1963, in Chicago, Illinois, Coan began his powerlifting journey at the young age of 16. He quickly rose to prominence in the powerlifting world, setting numerous records in the squat, bench press, and deadlift categories.

Coan has set over 71 world records in powerlifting and has won multiple world championships. His most notable achievement is his 1991 performance at the United Powerlifting Association’s National Championships, where he set a record by lifting a total of 2,463 pounds across the squat, bench press, and deadlift categories. This record still stands today.

In addition to his competitive career, Coan has also made significant contributions to the sport through his coaching and mentoring of other powerlifters. He is known for his technical expertise and his ability to inspire and motivate others.

Today, Coan continues to be involved in the powerlifting community, offering coaching services and sharing his knowledge and experience with the next generation of powerlifters. His dedication to the sport and his impressive achievements have earned him the nickname “The King of Powerlifting.”
